Direction Corrected means DLT™ adjusted the runtime copy to preserve continuity.
Stored presets remain untouched; the check happens only on the live copy you practice.

Smart Skratch Logic™ is the revived name for a scratch-aware logic concept documented on djgutter.com on May 27, 2002, where an upcoming online skratch combination generator was described as incorporating Smart Skratch Logic™. In the modern Pattern Engine, that earlier idea has evolved into Direction Logic Technology™ (DLT™), the motion-aware preflight engine that follows record direction from one technique to the next and checks whether the next movement makes physical sense from where the previous movement leaves the record.

THE MODERN ENGINE
Smart Skratch Logic™ is the concept and identity; DLT™ is the current engine underneath it. A combo can look fine in text while still asking the record hand to continue in a direction that does not fit the preceding motion. DLT™ catches that before you practice it.

When the record changes direction with the fader still open, the sound briefly stops at the turnaround. That tiny break is called a phantom click. You didn't actually click the fader — the change in record direction created it. DLT™ keeps phantom clicks separate from real fader clicks and silent resets.
CURRENT SCOPE
DLT™ performs automatic record-direction continuity checks and now annotates articulation mechanics: actual fader clicks, qualifying phantom clicks, and silent resets. The corrected runtime pattern is then used consistently by Current Combo, Motion Map, practice tools, sharing, and exports.

PLAY AUDIO controls the beat/local audio loaded in Pattern Engine; METRONOME controls the click independently. High-value actions can temporarily turn the 8×8 matrix into a Pixel Status Display, then the normal control lights return automatically. Mini MK3 and Launchpad X use the newer RGB Programmer Mode protocol. Mini MK2 uses the older Launchpad Mini / Launchpad S note layout with red/green/amber LED approximation and does not require SysEx permission. Release Controller restores the active model using its own hardware protocol.

TTM Method Attribution
The Turntablist Transcription Method (TTM) originated with John Carluccio’s DJ transcription work in 1997. In 1998, Carluccio collaborated with industrial designer Ethan Imboden to develop and refine the system. In late 1999, Carluccio and Imboden brought in Ray “DJ Raedawn” Pirtle, who had been independently developing a similar transcription method focused on complex scratches. The TTM Vol. 1.0 booklet, released in 2000, was the result of their collaboration. Carluccio, Imboden, and Pirtle are credited as co-authors and copyright holders of the 2000 booklet.

Fixed the Quick Overview / Start Here strip on iPad and medium-width tablet layouts so the call-to-action no longer expands across the row and crushes the explanatory text into a narrow column.
Tablet layouts now keep the overview copy flexible while the Quick Overview button stays at a stable compact width.
Phone behavior remains stacked with a full-width button, while desktop behavior is unchanged.

Mini MK2 uses the legacy Launchpad Mini / Launchpad S MIDI layout (8×8 raw note grid) with model-specific note translation so the physical pad positions trigger the same Pattern Engine actions as the newer Launchpads.
Added legacy red/green/amber two-way LED feedback, metronome/status LEDs, Pixel Status Display glyphs with palette approximation, Refresh Lights, Identify, Release, and reconnect-safe edge triggering.

Mini MK2 + Mini MK3 + Launchpad X
All three supported Launchpads use the same Pattern Engine pad positions. Choose the model you connected; Pattern Engine handles the legacy MK2 versus newer MK3/X MIDI details.
Connect your Launchpad
Connect a Launchpad Mini MK2, Launchpad Mini MK3, or Launchpad X by USB.
Open Pattern Engine in Chrome, switch to Pro Mode, and open MIDI Controller.
Press the matching Enable Mini MK2, Enable Mini MK3, or Enable Launchpad X button.
Allow MIDI access when Chrome asks. Mini MK3/X may also request System Exclusive access for Programmer Mode; Mini MK2 does not need it.
All three dedicated profiles are already mapped. You do not need to MIDI-Learn the 64 Launchpad pads one by one.

Same positions on all three models
The Virtual Launchpad directly below the controller cards is your labeled map. Mini MK3 and Launchpad X use those Programmer Mode notes directly; Mini MK2 translates the same positions to its older raw-note grid.
Launchpad X can report velocity and pressure, while Mini MK2 has an older limited LED palette. Pattern Engine treats each pad as the same discrete action so the workflow stays consistent across all three.
What do the lights mean?
Colors
Different colors group related controls. Mini MK3/X show the full RGB palette; Mini MK2 approximates those groups with its legacy red/green/amber LEDs.
Pixel messages
The 8×8 grid can briefly show icons, arrows, A/B, BPM numbers, count-ins, checks, and the GV startup display. Your normal control colors return automatically.

Quick fixes
Launchpad not found
Check USB, confirm you pressed the button for the model actually connected, reload Pattern Engine in Chrome, then try again.
Lights look wrong
Press Refresh Lights to resend the Pattern Engine layout.
PLAY AUDIO does nothing
Load a beat or local audio first. The metronome does not require audio.
Want normal Launchpad mode back?
Press Release Controller.
